Forced Entry Resistant Services
Forced entry resistant glazing systems for schools, government buildings, dispensaries, and high theft retail, certified to ASTM F1233 and WMFL 0500 performance criteria.
Forced entry resistant glazing is engineered to defeat hand tools, power tools, and pry attack for a measured period of time, giving alarm and response systems a meaningful window to react. We install forced entry resistant glazing in California and Arizona on schools, government buildings, cannabis dispensaries, and high theft retail.
The two most cited standards are ASTM F1233 for forced entry resistance under attack by hand and power tools, and the WMFL 0500 series for security forced entry. ASTM F1233 has multiple grade levels by attack time and tool category, with the assembly tested against the actual attack rather than a static load.
The assembly is built around a laminated security glass core with a structural interlayer, mounted in a steel or reinforced aluminum frame anchored with shear pins or through bolts that resist pry attack. Frame stops are mechanically captured and security glazing is set into the frame with structural silicone or interlocking stops. The substrate wall is reinforced where required by the rating.
Where we install forced entry resistant glazing: school front entries (often required by district hardening initiatives), cannabis dispensary fronts and product display cases, pharmacy controlled substance areas, museum and gallery display cases, and government building lobbies. We coordinate the install with the alarm and access control scope so the glazing is hardened in concert with the electronic protection.
