Omni Hotels & Resorts is a privately held, luxury hotel company based in Dallas, Texas, operating over 50 properties across the United States and Canada, totaling more than 20,000 rooms and employing over 23,000 people. Originally founded in 1958 as Dunfey Hotels in Hampton, New Hampshire, the company has a rich history of growth and transformation. After several ownership changes over the decades, the company was acquired in 1996 by Texas-based private equity investor Robert Rowling of TRT Holdings, who relocated the headquarters to Dallas. Unlike many of its peers in the hospitality industry, Omni continues to both own and operate the majority of its properties, with all but a handful of hotels fully owned and operated by the company.
