A Trusted Partner in Commercial Glazing

Barker Pacific Group, Inc. (BPG) is a privately held, vertically integrated real estate investment firm headquartered in Los Angeles, California, founded in 1983 by Michael D. Barker. The firm acquires, repositions, and manages office and multifamily properties, with in-house acquisition, development, asset, property, and construction management. Its headquarters is at 6255 W. Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, and it has offices in San Francisco, Roseville, Fullerton, Pasadena, Santa Ana, Phoenix, and Las Vegas.

Michael Barker began his career in 1968 as a lending officer at Citibank in New York, co-founded First Houston Trust Company in 1970, and, as an officer of Hines Interests, led development of more than 4 million square feet of office space. As CEO and managing partner of BPG, he directed the development of more than $3.5 billion in commercial and residential projects in California, Arizona, Texas, and Florida. Barker died in December 2024 at age 80. BPG is led by Managing Principal Mark Handin, with Mory Barak as executive chairman of the board.

BPG's commercial strategy targets partially leased or underperforming properties, which it improves through capital improvements, active leasing, and repositioning. Its current commercial holdings include One Sansome Street in San Francisco, acquired in 2010 with partner PGIM; Griffin Towers, twin Santa Ana office buildings with 560,000 rentable square feet, bought for $82 million in 2023 with Kingsbarn Realty Capital; and Tower 300, the former Bank of America Tower in downtown Las Vegas, acquired in 2021. In January 2026 a BPG and Hankey Investment Co. joint venture bought the 22-story Sunset Media Center at 6255 Sunset Boulevard, the address of BPG's headquarters, from Kilroy Realty for $61 million, and in February 2026 BPG acquired The Quad, a 179,537-square-foot office and R&D campus in Carlsbad.

BPG also invests in value-add apartment communities, focused on Arizona, Nevada, and Texas with an emphasis on workforce housing, and owns Storage Solutions, a self-storage platform that the company says acquires and manages properties in California. Corporate tenants in its buildings have included IBM, British Petroleum, and Northrop Grumman.
