Radisson Hotel Group is one of the world's largest and most dynamic international hotel companies, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. The company's origins trace back to 1909, when the first Radisson Hotel opened in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, named after 17th-century French explorer Pierre-Esprit Radisson. The brand grew significantly under the ownership of Carlson Companies, which purchased the original Radisson Hotel in 1962 and expanded it into a global hospitality corporation over the following decades. After a series of ownership changes, including acquisitions by HNA Group in 2016 and subsequently Jin Jiang International in 2018, the company was rebranded to its current name, Radisson Hotel Group. In 2022, the group sold its entire Americas division to Choice Hotels for $675 million, refocusing its operations on Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region.
